Soon after opening in 1994,
we were hired by an imposing gentleman who
weighed in at 360 lbs. When Jim had a
medical problem, he was transported to the
hospital by four firemen in an ambulance. On
several occasions, he expressed to us a
desire to feed some ducks for the last
time. We did some research and came up with
a lovely farm in the country that had a duck
pond. We arranged for the ambulance to take
him there on his way home from the hospital.
When the firemen lowered his gurney onto the
grass, a puzzled Jim soon got it and when
he saw us with bread, it was all over. All
six of us dissolved into tears as Jim
lovingly fed the ducks. None of us will
ever forget that moment. |
